Case Studies

Over the last 20 years, we have had the privilege to work with a number of high profile business across a whole variety of industries. In order to show some of the solutions that we have created and the challenges that we have helped our customers overcome, we've compiled a selection of case studies from our projects over the years.

Managing the complex shift patterns and payroll of 1,400 personnel is a daunting enough concept without considering the added pressure of having a manual HR system. For the team at DPD's Birmingham hub, this was a problem that required a robust and adaptable solution in order to reduce costs and save a considerable amount of administrative time each month.

Zentive Time Systems (the Directional Systems) were brought in to introduce new Time & Attendance software with the additional support of an Absence Management module. As part of this, the system was created to record and alert managers automatically in the event of requests and unauthorised absences. The ability to generate an on-screen report allows managers to focus on promoting a more efficient and cost-effective workforce. In addition, the Time & Attendance element reduced errors and additional processing time for payroll.

By ensuring that we focus on the core requirements of our customers and tailor software to suit their needs, we ensure that our systems integrate smoothly and provide a stable platform to grow your business. No matter the size of your workforce, the gains that can be made by improving on productivity and reducing labour-intensive administration tasks are irrefutable.

RML Group is one of the leading high-performance automotive engineering companies in the world, specialising in Touring Car, GT, Sports Prototype and Rallying programmes in major motor sports series for global automotive brands. The team dates back to 1979, when they were Ray Mallock Atlantic Racing, providing a rich heritage and a plethora of cutting-edge design concepts hidden behind their doors.

With such a long history and so many racing programmes to juggle, it's surprising that they have only 100 members of staff at their base in Wellingborough. Given that they only have a small team, it is vital that every minute is maximised to build and develop their championship winning designs.

To make this possible, we established a partnership in 1998, providing a Time & Attendance system and global Access Control throughout the site, ensuring that only those authorised to see their designs can set foot inside. Whilst RML Group has developed their portfolio of events over the last 20 years and adapted to the latest advancements in motorsports technology, the software provided by Zentive Time Systems has also adapted, allowing it to stand the test of time.

Whether it's an entirely new site being built and fitted out from scratch or a retrofit to an existing building, our workforce management software can be adapted to suit any scenario. Often businesses with more complex shift patterns and payroll cycles are unsuitable for many of the generic Time & Attendance solutions available on the market.

When Florette opened their UK base at Litchfield in 1999, it soon became clear that their current system was not up to scratch. Zentive Time Systems (then Directional Systems) was commissioned to provide an alternative solution, capable of tying up the loose ends left by their predecessors and helping to minimise manual processing.

As the European leader in vegetables and fresh, ready-to-use salads, Florette has around 280 members of staff in the UK alone. To manage their workforce, their previous system had required them to provide estimated timesheets for the final week of each month, leading to hours corrections the following month to rectify the mistakes.

By implementing a real-time system, Florette were able to save over 1 day per month of staff resources purely through reduced manual adminstration. It also gave them the flexibility to process payroll internally and manage holiday and absence far more effectively than ever before, resulting in significant financial savings and shifting the focus onto the product.

As the world's leading manufacturer of high efficiency fans and motor products, EBM Papst UK pride themselves on their extensive product range, bespoke designs and providing world-class technical support. It goes without saying that when selecting a HR solution, they would look for the very same features to suit their business.

Back in 2001, Zentive Time Systems (then Directional Systems) were selected to provide EBM Papst with a robust Time & Attendance system, which could help them to manage their 50 employees at the Head Office in Chelmsford. Whilst it does not require some of the more complex features of other customer systems, the Time & Attendance software utilised by EBM Papst UK offers a simple, yet effective HR solution to help the team maximise their output, despite the low number of staff based at the UK facility.

Their role as an official team supplier to AMG Petronas Motorsports means that they expect excellent service and reliable systems that will allow them to focus on creating cutting-edge race technology. After 17 years of working together, we are confident that we've found a winning formula.
